The Worlds Of Blogging and Journalism Collide

Erick Schonfeld is comparing between blogging and journalism. Erich is one of the four writers at TechCrunch, a top professional blog features on observing and analysing Web startups and the larger tech companies movements. Eric has been a journalist at Times Inc. before he made the move to TechCrunch and became a professional blogger six month ago. In this post, he compares the web1.0 media with blog, the most important invent of web 2.0, by pointing out that successful formula of TechCrunch. The formula can be summarized as Prompt Action + Open Discussion Platform. He describes TechCrunch as a sauce of information as well a filter for sauce. The most significant different between traditional media writing and blogging is that the latter one is more prompt. It will sacrifice some accuracy and deepness for quicker breaking news publishing. And when traditional media maintains its serious and authoratative image, blogs root deeper in ordinary people, it allows the public to debate and to share opinions.
